The Drama Book Shop is pleased to welcome playwrights Courtney Baron (A Very Common Procedure, The Blue Room) and Jeff Talbott (The Submission) for a discussion about their latest works, opening at New York's Keen Company and The Actors Company Theatre (TACT) later this month. Join these two witty writers for a lively discussion with playwright Steven Carl McCasland about writing, theatre, the preview period and more. The Thursday, March 2nd, 5:30pm event is free and open to the public.

A world premiere by Courtney Baron, When It's You is a personal look at the ripple effects that follow gun violence in contemporary America. Ginnifer is single, thirty-seven, and has just lost her mother to illness. She moves back to her hometown and learns her first love in high school is now at the center of a violent crime. Ginnifer must confront her relationship to the heinous act as well as her changingplace in society, all while living under the roof of her dead mother's home. Timely and moving, When It’s You complexly and honestly explores America today. Presented by Keen Company, When It's You begins performances at The Clurman Theatre on February 28th. Tickets are available now at www.telecharge.com. Keen Company creates theater that provokes identification, reflection and emotional connection. Jeff Talbott’s powerful new play The Gravedigger's Lullaby is a gritty look into the life of Baylen, an honest, hard-working gravedigger who sweats and bleeds to support his small family. He has it all in his hands: love, death, and dirt. But when society begins to crush him, which one will he hold onto? Love and Hate. Rich and Poor. It all ends up in the dirt. Presented by TACT, The Gravedigger's Lullaby begins performances at The Beckett Theatre on February 28th. Tickets are available now at www.telecharge.com. TACT is a company of theatre artists that reveals, reclaims, and reimagines great plays of literary merit, creating an intimate theatre experience for its audience by focusing on the text and the actor’s ability to bring it to life.
