The Drama Book Shop is pleased to welcome author and veteran General Manager, Peter Bogyo, for a discussion and signing to celebrate the publication of his book on Thursday, September 14th at 6:00pm. Bogyo will sit down with theatre critic Peter Marks for a discussion about Bogyo's new book, Broadway General Manager: Demystifying the Most Important and Least Understood Role in Show Business. Copies of the book will be available for purchase, and the discussion will be followed by a signing. Admission is free and open to the public.

Peter Marks has been the Washington Post's chief theater critic since 2002. Prior to that he was a theater critic, cultural reporter and national correspondent for The New York Times. A graduate of Yale, he is co-author of "Good for the Money," published by St. Martin's Press, and on four occasions has chaired the jury for the Pulitzer Prize for drama.
Peter Bogyo is a veteran general manager of Broadway and off-Broadway shows and has worked with many award-winning producers, directors, authors, stars, and designers such as Stephen Sondheim, Jerry Herman, Kevin Spacey, Richard Dreyfus, Sir Alan Bates, Dame Eileen Atkins, Carol Burnett, and Cicely Tyson, among others. He is also a producer of special events and has produced major benefit concerts, yielding close to one million dollars, in such New York venues as Carnegie Hall, David Geffen Hall, Alice Tully Hall, Town Hall, and Symphony Space. He is particularly proud that his concert version of “Anyone Can Whistle” with Angela Lansbury at Carnegie Hall was nominated for a Grammy® Award. He is a graduate of Yale College and the Commercial Theater Institute, a member of the Broadway League, and a Tony Award® voter. He lives in New York City and upstate New York with his wife Ahna, son Jamie, and their Scottish terrier Bilbo.
