CONNOR HOLLOWAY (they/them) was born and raised in Louisville, Kentucky. Connor had an early start on stage in musical theatre productions and quickly became ballet-obsessed at age 13 after debuting in The Nutcracker with the Louisville Ballet. With a newfound passion for ballet, Connor moved away from home at age 16 to join the Boston Ballet School. Upon graduation from the Trainee program at Boston Ballet, Connor moved to New York City to join America’s National Ballet Company, American Ballet Theatre (ABT) in 2014. Some of their favorite roles to dance include Jessica Lang’s ZigZag, in which they originated the first genderless role in ABT’s repertoire, Paul Taylor’s Company B, Alexei Ratmansky’s On the Dnieper, and Kevin McKenzie’s Swan Lake. Shortly after becoming a corps de ballet member, Connor was appointed to run the dancer-created Instagram account, @abtofficial and later launched the company’s TikTok page, @americanballettheatre. This role led Connor to becoming a full-time marketing team member in addition to full-time dancer with ABT. Connor is thrilled to have contributed to American Ballet Theatre and Random House Children’s book BOYS DANCE! and is honored to share in the latest addition of the collaboration, The Night Before the Nutcracker.
